Construction of carbon dots modified hollow g-C3N4 spheres via in situ calcination of cyanamide and glucose for highly enhanced visible light photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

In recent times, metal tungstates have received a lot of attention in various research fields. Accordingly, the CaWO4/RGO (CW/RGO) nanocomposite was prepared by a facile hydrothermal method. The electrocatalytic performance of the hydrothermally prepared CW/RGO nanocomposite was used for the electrochemical detection of the antibiotic medicine enrofloxacin (ENF). The electrocatalytic oxidation performance of ENF was examined by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and amperometry (AMP) techniques. The CV results showed the lowest anodic peak potential and the enhanced anodic peak current response compared to the other modified electrodes. Mainly, our newly proposed sensor exhibited excellent electrochemical performance with the lowest limit of detection (LOD) of 0.021 μM, and a significant linear range of 0.001-115 μM. Additionally, our proposed sensor exhibited good selectivity, great long-term stability, and excellent reproducibility. Then, our proposed sensor was successfully applied to detect the amount of ENF in a milk sample and river water, which exhibited good satisfactory results.

Aptamer-AuNP-conjugated carboxymethyl chitosan–functionalized graphene oxide for colorimetric identification of Salmonella typhimurium

Tea polyphenols are essential components that give tea its medicinal properties. Methanol and water are frequently used as solvents in the extraction of polyphenols. Hydrogen-bonding interactions are significant in the extraction reaction. Density functional theory (DFT) techniques were used to conduct a theoretical investigation on the hydrogen-bonding interactions between methanol or water and epicatechin, an abundant polyphenol found in tea. After first analyzing the epicatechin monomer's molecular geometry and charge characteristics, nine stable epicatechin (EC) H2O/CH2OH complex geometries were discovered. The presence of hydrogen bonding in these improved structures has been proven. The calculated hydrogen bond structures are very stable, among which the hydrogen bond bonded with a hydroxyl group has higher stability. The nine complex structures’ hydrogen bonds were thought to represent closed-shell-type interactions. The interaction energy with 30O-31H on the epicatechin benzene ring is the strongest in the hydrogen bond structure. While the other hydrogen bonds were weak in strength and mostly had an electrostatic nature, the hydrogen bonds between the oxygen atoms in H2O or CH2OH and the hydrogen atoms of the hydroxyl groups in epicatechin were of moderate strength and had a covalent character. Comparing the changes in the hydrogen bond structure vibration peak, the main change in concentration peak is the hydrogen bond vibration peak in the complex.  ‐based study of the hydrogen‐bonding interactions between epicatechin and methanol/water

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the seventh coronavirus (CoV) that has spread in humans and has become a global pandemic since late 2019. Efficient and accurate laboratory diagnostic methods are one of the crucial means to control the development of the current pandemic and to prevent potential future outbreaks. Although real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (rRT-PCR) is the preferred laboratory method recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) for diagnosing and screening SARS-CoV-2 infection, the versatile immunoassays still play an important role for pandemic control. They can be used not only as supplemental tools to identify cases missed by rRT-PCR, but also for first-line screening tests in areas with limited medical resources. Moreover, they are also indispensable tools for retrospective epidemiological surveys and the evaluation of the effectiveness of vaccination. In this review, we summarize the mainstream immunoassay methods for human coronaviruses (HCoVs) and address their benefits, limitations, and applications. Then, technical strategies based on bioinformatics and advanced biosensors were proposed to improve the performance of these methods. Finally, future suggestions and possibilities that can lead to higher sensitivity and specificity are provided for further research.
