TL;DR: For example, ClimateBC v5 as mentioned in this paper is a standalone MS Windows application written in Visual Basic 6.0 that extracts and downscales PRISM (Daly et al. 2008) 1971-2000 monthly climate normal data (800 x 800 m) to scale-free point locations and calculates seasonal and annual climate variables for specific locations based on latitude, longitude and elevation.
