Journal ArticleDOI

A survey of restriction fragment length polymorphisms in tall fescue and its relatives

TL;DR: Restriction fragment length polymorphisms have several advantages over conventional genetic markers and as a result have received increased attention from plant breeders and geneticists.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genomic in situ hybridization (GISH) reveals high chromosome pairing affinity between Lolium perenne and Festuca mairei.

TL;DR: The results showed that meiocytes of Lolium-Festuca are amenable to GISH analysis, and provided direct evidence for the hypothesis that the chromosomes of Lolia and Festuca may be genetically equivalent and that reciprocal mixing of the genomes may be possible.
Journal ArticleDOI

A model of meiotic chromosome association in triploids

Charles F. Crane, +1 more
- 01 Feb 1989 -
TL;DR: A model is constructed for chromosome association at meiotic metaphase I in tetraploids using a statistically overparameterized model that has multiple solutions whose range can be found through repeated optimization from different starting points.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of temperature on meiosis and fertility in Festuca mairei × Festuca arundinacea var. glaucescens

TL;DR: This study considered the effects of three continuous growth temperatures on apparent genomic structure, apparent chromosome arm ratio, pollen abortion, and meiotic nonreduction in full-sib genotypes of Festuca mairei × F. arundinacea var.
