Journal Article

Factors affecting light-adapted pupil size in normal human subjects

TL;DR: Pupil size was found to be independent of gender, refractive error, or iris color (P > 0.1), and the phenomenon of senile miosis is present over a wide range of ocular illuminance levels.
Journal ArticleDOI

The development, assessment, and selection of questionnaires.

TL;DR: This article summarizes how previously developed instruments are best assessed using a systematic process and proposes a system of quality assessment so that clinicians and researchers can determine whether there exists an appropriately developed and validated instrument that matches their particular needs.
Journal ArticleDOI

The reliability of the Pelli-Robson contrast sensitivity chart.

TL;DR: Normative contrast sensitivity (CS) data were obtained using the commercially available Pelli‐Robson chart from the dominant eye of 30 young and older subjects with normal healthy eyes and showed to be repeatable to within ±1 step.
Journal Article

Assessing the reliability, discriminative ability, and validity of disability glare tests.

TL;DR: Data indicates that contrast sensitivity or low contrast acuity measured in the presence of glare are superior to disability glare scores in assessing cataract patients with normal neural function and suggests that unless good chart design and psychophysics are used, the geometry and intensity of the glare source are of little importance.
