TL;DR: In this article, an electrode assembly for a myoelectric prosthesis comprising a housing 11 having an adjustable mounting portion 12 to mount to the prosthesis, an electrode 14 that may be in an electrode holder 19 and is mounted to the housing by a biasing element that biases the electrode toward a non-skin-contacting neutral home position, and a pressure transfer unit 16 to transfer pressure to the electrode in the direction of the skin.
Abstract: An electrode assembly for a myoelectric prosthesis comprising a housing 11 having an adjustable mounting portion 12 to mount to the prosthesis, an electrode 14 that may be in an electrode holder 19 and is mounted to the housing by a biasing element that biases the electrode toward a non-skin-contacting neutral home position, and a pressure transfer unit 16 to transfer pressure to the electrode in the direction of the skin. The pressure transfer unit has a pressure applicator 15 with pressure adjustment 18 to move the electrode between a lowered, skin-contacting position and the raised home position. The biasing element may comprise deformable biasing bodies. The pressure transfer unit may have an arcuate abutment surface 37 to contact the electrode holder. The pressure application structure may comprise a plate mounted to the housing using two or more arms that raise or lower the electrode and lock into position.
