To rehabilitate an internally corroded underground pipeline, excavations are made at its opposite ends to which launching and receiving pipe structures are then secured. Various pig member sets, with appropriate treatment fluids carried thereby, are air-driven through the entire length of the pipeline to successively acid clean, etch, and neutralize its interior surface. The interior pipeline surface is then thoroughly dried by flowing dehydrated air through the pipeline. Specially designed leading and trailing extruder pigs, with 100% solid, high viscosity, solvent-free epoxy coating material therebetween, are then air-driven through the pipeline to extrude a first protective coating layer onto its interior surface. The first layer is then dried with dehydrated air. Additional layers are then extruder pig-applied, and similarly dried, to form a relatively thick interior pipeline coating that protects the pipeline against further interior corrosion and also forms, in effect, a "pipe within a pipe" that provides the now rehabilitated pipeline with substantial structural reinforcement from within.

Interior pipeline coating process

An automobile mountable bicycle carrier that is mounted to the trunk portion of an automobile. The carrier has rearwardly extending arms which have bicycle frame attachment brackets engaged thereto. Two brackets are disposed to hold each bicycle frame, one bracket holding the top tube and the other bracket holding the seat tube. The bracket which holds the seat tube preferably also holds the top tube.

A method of cleaning and coating water conducting pipes is provided wherein a mixture of water and compressed air is forced through the emptied pipe system to rough clean such system, a pressurized acid is introduced into the pipe system and allowed to react with the interior surface of the pipes for a predetermined period of time. The acid is then drained from the pipes, and the interior of the pipes is dried by compressed air. A pressurized liquid plastic is then introduced into the pipes to coat the pipes with the excess plastic being subsequently drained from the pipe system.

Method for cleaning and coating water-conducting pipes

The present invention relates to coating of tubes, and more particularly to a system and method for coating and/or renovating deteriorated or pitted tubes to extend tube life and enhance performance. Using this system and method a thin coating is applied to the interior of a tube such that the coating is uniform in thickness and covers all regions of the tube. The coating material may be selected to minimize changes in heat transfer or may be selected to provide for the change in working fluid within the tube such that the working fluid does not negatively interact with the tube material.

A pipeline pig—that moves by pressurized gas flow and provides for distribution of treating liquid subsisting in a lower portion of a pipeline—having a longitudinally extending nozzle located at a forward end of the pig, an array of helical-shaped louvers located on the discharge side of the nozzle and arranged circumferentially, and two perforated sealing elements that create a cavity that serves as a low pressure plenum. The louvers create a vortex effect and the perforated sealing elements allow vapor and liquid in front of the pig to be drawn into the cavity and discharged through the ports and back into the discharge of the nozzle. In this manner, liquid subsisting at a bottom portion of the pipeline is dispersed to achieve a complete 360° coating application of the interior cylindrical wall of the pipeline.

A method for distributing fluid along the interior wall of a pipeline wherein a quantity of fluid is placed at a location in the pipeline and exposed at one side to a force acting in an axial and rotational direction. This force will cause at least a portion of the fluid to enter a helical path adjacent the pipeline which will force the material to be coated on the inner wall of the pipeline. As the fluid is coated on the pipeline wall it is exposed to an axial wiping force which smooths out the fluid coated onto the inner wall of the pipeline by removing the excess material.
