Notes on the equation to use for pga4nl

TL;DR: In this article, a non-linear site amplification term called pga4nl was proposed for ground motion prediction equations (GMPEs), which requires a value of peak acceleration for the magnitude and distance for which the equations are being evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crystal methamphetamine use and bacterial sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among gay, bisexual and other sexual minority men in Canada.

TL;DR: This paper examined whether the association between greater crystal methamphetamine risk and prevalent bacterial STI diagnosis among GBM was mediated by two types of attitudinal variables: attitudes toward condoms and sexual escape motives, defined as the use of substances to escape self-awareness during sex, and by sexual behaviors.
Journal Article

Empirical prediction of strong ground motion

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors published equations for the prediction of various measures of ground motion as a function of earthquake magnitude, distance from the earthquake rupture, and site geology, and the predictions of the ground motions from their published equations are in reasonable agreement with the peak accelerations from new data.
