Journal ArticleDOI

Ecology and morphology of recent coral reefs

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that if sea level during the Holocene was higher than at present, as Daly also supposed, the effects on reef features would be profound, and that oceanic reefs developed by progressive subsidence of their foundations.
Journal Article

Mangrove ecosystem collapse during predicted sea-level rise: Holocene analogues and implications

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of the stratigraphic record of mangrove ecosystems during sea-level changes of the Holocene shows that low islands will be particularly vulnerable to the sea level changes of low islands during the rises of relative sea level projected for the next 50 years.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrodynamics of salt marsh creek systems: Implications for marsh morphological development and material exchange

TL;DR: In this paper, highly unsteady creek flows exhibit well-developed velocity and stress transients which result from the discontinuous nature of the tidal prism and the interaction of shallow water tidal inputs with hydraulically rough vegetated surfaces.
