TL;DR: In this paper, the meaning and management of biogenetic paternity in the creation of their family relationships was investigated. But, despite the extent to which participants underplayed the importance of paternal biological connections in creating or defining the meaning of family, they also emphasized that the kinship resource must be carefully managed in creating and maintaining couple, parent-child and extended family relationships.
