Cementitious compositions and methods for making same, in which the cementitious compositions include 35-60 wt. % cementitious reactive powder (also termed Portland cement-based binder), 2-10 wt. % expanded and chemically coated perlite filler, 20-40 wt. % water, entrained air, and optional additives such as water reducing agents, chemical set-accelerators, and chemical set-retarders. In addition, the lightweight cementitious compositions may contain 0-25 wt. % on a wet basis secondary fillers such as expanded clay, shale aggregate, and pumice.

Lightweight Cementitious Compositions and Building Products and Methods for Making Same

A self-hardened, high temperature-resistant, foamed composite is described. An alkali metal silicate-based matrix devoid of chemical water has dispersed therein inorganic particulates, organic particulates, or a mixture of inorganic and organic particulates, and is produced at ambient temperature by activating the silicates of an aqueous, air-entrained gel containing matrix-forming silicate, particulates, flyash, surfactant, and a pH-lowering and buffering agent.

Advanced geopolymer composites

A fireproof insulating foamed cementitious composition with thermal energy storage capacity is provided for use in producing wall insulation boards, fireproof claddings for steel structures, inner cores of fire resistant wall or door panels, and the like. The composition demonstrates improved energy efficiency in which phase change materials, such as microencapsulates, are used in conjunction with a cementitious mixture of calcined gypsum and hydraulic cement, lightweight aggregates, a polymer latex, and a foaming solution to create stable air bubbles inside the cementitious matrix. The calcined gypsum and the hydraulic cement are present in a weight ratio range from about 1:3 to about 3:1. The composition may further include reinforced fibers, surfactants, inorganic flame retardants, and other additives. The presence of the phase change material not only increases energy efficiency of the cured cementitious foam material, but also improves compatibility between calcined gypsum and cement during slurry mixing and hardening.

Fireproof insulating cementitious foam comprising phase change materials

A blown-in fibrous insulation is provided in a substantially homogenous-density form. A foamed material in its foamed state is mixed with already-lofted fibrous particles and the mixture is blown into a desired space. The foam acts to maintain the fibrous particle loft during impaction from subsequent applications of the insulation material or from the weight of insulation material above. The foam preferably contains an adhesive material which sets or cures to maintain the fiber loft by the time the foam material dries and dissipates. A nozzle designed to provide the described mixing of materials and to avoid backflow and consequent clogging or plugging is provided.

Fibrous blown-in insulation having homogenous density

The invention provides an insulation material in the form of a cured composition comprising as components: (a) 10 to 30% w magnesium chloride, (b) 0 to 15% w of an organic resin, (c) 0 to 0.5% w of a mould-release agent, (d) 0.1 to 1% w of a surfactant, (e) 6 to 8% w of a sodium polyphosphate glass, (f) 6 to 20% w magnesium oxide, (g) 4 to 20% w inorganic filler, (h) 15 to 30% w cenospheres, (i) 1 to 3 % w orthophosphoric acid, (j) 0 to 12 % w inorganic fibres, in overall proportions to total 100%, having a density in the range 200 to 500 kg/m 3 ; and its preparation.

Insulation material and its preparation

A sprayable insulation composition curable at ambient conditions consisting essentially of: (a) a dry mix of 100-120 parts by volume of expanded perlite, 20-30 parts by volume of Portland cement, 0.5-2.0 parts by volume of hydrated lime and 0.1 part by volume of diatomite admixed with (b) an aqueous solution of 0.25-2 ounces per Imperial gallon of water-soluble foaming agent, at a level of 20-26 pounds of dry mix per one Imperial gallon of solution.

Sprayable insulation composition

A self-hardening composition consists essentially of 3-5% by weight of an alkaline earth metal chloride, 0.5-1.5% by weight of calcium metasilicate, 0.5-1.5% by weight of sodium fluorosilicate, 30-40% by weight of sodium silicate, 0.02-0.04% by weight of aluminum silicate clay and water. Composites made therefrom can include expanded aggregate material and/or reinforcing fibers, as extenders, or to impart control over the open curing time to preset requirements.

Self-hardening composition and composite therefrom

A clip for holding an insulating and/or fireproofing panel to the surface of a structural member such as an I-beam or the like. The panel may be coated on one side thereof with a suitable adhesive and the clip will assist in supporting the panel in intimate contact with the surface of the structural member during the setting or hardening of the adhesive. In instances where the panel is left uncoated with an adhesive, the clip is strategically spaced along the length of the structural member to maintain the panel in close contact with the structural member.
