A mathematical model has been developed, for the simulation of a synchronous machine with brushless excitation. The model also includes the simulation of Turbine Governor connected to the synchronous machine. The model consists of a set of simultaneous non linear first order differential equations in the generalised form suitable for the study of transient and steady state operation of a synchronous machine. Using the mathematical model, the behaviour of a synchronous machine with brushless excitation, during asynchronous operation and resynchronization has been studied on a digital computer.
