The purpose of this study was to evaluate the physical demands of English Football Association (FA) Premier League soccer of three different positional classifications (defender, midfielder and striker). Computerised time-motion video-analysis using the Bloomfield Movement Classification was undertaken on the purposeful movement (PM) performed by 55 players. Recognition of PM had a good inter-tester reliability strength of agreement (κ = 0.7277). Players spent 40.6 ± 10.0% of the match performing PM. Position had a significant influence on %PM time spent sprinting, running, shuffling, skipping and standing still (p 0.05). Players spent 48.7 ± 9.2% of PM time moving in a directly forward direction, 20.6 ± 6.8% not moving in any direction and the remainder of PM time moving backward, lateral, diagonal and arced directions. The players performed the equivalent of 726 ± 203 turns during the match; 609 ± 193 of these being of 0° to 90° to the left or right. Players were involved in the equivalent of 111 ± 77 on the ball movement activities per match with no significant differences between the positions for total involvement in on the ball activity (p > 0.05). This study has provided an indication of the different physical demands of different playing positions in FA Premier League match-play through assessment of movements performed by players.

Somatotyping—Development and Applications

The practice of football, requires the execution of demanding movements of high energy demand, being the position in the field of play one of the factors that influences the physiological requirements of these athletes, so the objective of this study is to assess the Physical condition of children footballers depending on the playing position. The present is a cross-sectional correlational study; A sample of 240 children belonging to the soccer schools of Neiva, which have a minimum age of 7 years and a maximum of 17 with an average of 13 years, were available for its realization. For the measurement of aerobic power the Course Navette test was taken, the anaerobic power the RAST test, for the power of the lower limbs the horizontal jump test and for flexibility the Flexitest. As a result, statistically significant differences were found between the game position and fatigue index, maximum power and horizontal jump p <0.001, so it is concluded that the aerobic and anaerobic power varies depending on the position.

espanolLa valoracion funcional del patinador incluye la valoracion del perfil antropometrico por ser uno de los factores que influye en el exito deportivo y sus componentes relativos y absolutos, y adicionalmente proporciona sustrato para determinar la condicion fisica del deportista. Asi mismo, esta estimada como parte del conjunto de variables biologicas relacionadas con el rendimiento deportivo, y su medicion se constituye en un factor de seleccion muy importante en la practica deportiva, puesto que permite identificar los parametros maximos del rendimiento del deportista. El presente trabajo tuvo como fin describir el perfil antropometrico y la condicion fisica de ninos patinadores de Neiva. Se realizo un estudio observacional, cuantitativo de corte transversal con un alcance xploratorio. La poblacion estuvo conformada por 152 deportistas de patinaje de la ciudad de Neiva. El muestreo fue probabilistico y correspondio a 86 patinadores.Se realizo una valoracion del perfil antropometrico, mediante la toma de pliegues, diametros y perimetros y posteriormente se llevaron a cabo test para valorar la condicion fisica como Leguer para estimar VO2 maximo, RAST para estimar la potencia anaerobica, test saltohorizontal para potencia de miembros inferiores y Flexitest para estimar el nivel de flexibilidad. Dentro de los hallazgos se encontro que los de deportistas evaluados tienen una tendencia a ser meso-endomorfos, presentan una baja capacidad aerobica y anaerobica, asicomo falta de flexibilidad. EnglishThe functional assessment of the skater includes the assessment of the anthropometric profile because it is one of the factors that influences sports success and its relative and absolute components, and additionally provides a substrate to determine the athlete physical condition. It is also estimated as part of the set of biological variables related to sports performance, and its measurement constitutes a very important selection factor in sports practice, since it allows to identify the maximum parameters of the performance of the athlete. The purpose of this study was to determine the anthropometric profile and physical condition of Neiva skating children. It was done an observational, quantitative cross-sectional study with an exploratory scope. the population consisted of 152 skating athletes from the city of Neiva. Sampling was probabilistic and corresponded to 86 skaters. An assessment of the anthropometric profile was made, by taking folds, diameters and perimeters and then tests were carried out to assess the physical condition as Leguer to estimate maximum VO2, RAST to estimate anaerobic power, horizontal jump test for limb power lower and Flexitest to estimate the level of flexibility. Among the findings it was found that those of evaluated athletes have a tendency to be meso-endomorphic, have a low aerobic and anaerobic capacity, as well as a lack of flexibility

espanolObjetivo: identificar la influencia del estado nutricional, nivel de actividad fisica y condicion fisica en el rendimiento academico de estudiantes fisioterapia de una universidad en Colombia. Metodos: estudio correlacional y transversal, con una poblacion de 251 estudiantes inscritos al programa de fisioterapia de la Fundacion Universitaria Maria Cano, sede Neiva. La muestra fue de 171 estudiantes, los cuales fueron seleccionados de forma aleatoria. Se utilizo el IPAQ para el nivel de actividad fisica, somatocarta, test de Leger, RAST, y ficha de registro de notas. Todos los participantes firmaron consentimiento informado. Resultados: se hallo una correlacion muy fuerte entre el Nivel de actividad fisica – Rendimiento academico (r=0.95), y una correlacion positiva moderada entre las demas variables Rendimiento academico – IMC (r: 0.71), Rendimiento academico – VO2 (r = 0.58), Rendimiento academico – Indice de Fatiga (r = 0.62) y Rendimiento academico – Salto horizontal (r = 0.86). Asi mismo se evidencio una correlacion positiva considerable entre el IMC y el nivel de actividad fisica (r:0.766). Conclusiones: Existe una influencia positiva del estado nutricional, el nivel de actividad fisica y condicion fisica sobre el rendimiento academico en la poblacion objeto de estudio. EnglishObjective: to identify the influence of nutritional status, level of physical activity and physical condition on the academic performance of physiotherapy students of a university in Colombia. Methods: correlational and cross-sectional study, with a population of 251 students enrolled in the physiotherapy program of the Maria Cano University Foundation, Neiva headquarters. The sample was 171 students, who were randomly selected. The IPAQ was used for the level of physical activity, somatocarta, Leger test, RAST, and record card. All participants signed informed consent. Results: a very strong correlation was found between the Level of physical activity - Academic performance (r = 0.95), and a moderate positive correlation between the other variables Academic performance - BMI (r: 0.71), Academic performance - VO2 (r = 0.58), Academic performance - Fatigue Index (r = 0.62) and Academic performance - Horizontal jump (r = 0.86). Likewise, there was a significant positive correlation between the BMI and the level of physical activity (r: 0.766). Conclusions: There is a positive influence of nutritional status, level of physical activity and physical condition on academic performance in the population under study.

Influencia del estado nutricional, nivel de actividad física y condición física en el rendimiento académico de estudiantes universitarios

El futbol es uno de los deportes mas populares de todos los tiempos en el mundo entero, posiblemente porque es un deporte rico en contenido psicomotriz, donde juegan un papel importante las capacidades fisicas, tecnicas, espaciales, y perceptivas. Objetivos: Determinar las caracteristicas de la condicion fisica de los jugadores de futbol universitario en condiciones especiales en la ciudad de Neiva. Materiales y Metodos: Fue un tipo de investigacion descriptiva con una fase comparativa, con un tamano muestra a conveniencia de 51 futbolistas inscritos en ASCUN DEPORTES de tres universidades de la ciudad, a los cuales se aplicaron 2 test para medir la resistencia (potencia anaerobica glicolitica y la resistencia aerobica). Conclusiones: Se establecio que la edad promedio de 21 anos, los cuales se encuentran cursando entre 1 a 4 semestre y el mayor porcentaje pertenecen a la Universidad Surcolombiana. La frecuencia de practica semanal promedio de los deportistas es de 3 veces por semana, llevan practicando el futbol entre 5 y 10 anos y se desempenan en su mayoria como volantes. Con relacion a la resistencia aerobica y resistencia (potencia) anaerobica los futbolistas fueron catalogados en un nivel norma; sin embargo solo la variable resistencia aerobica tuvo asociacion estadisticamente significativa con la frecuencia depractica semanal.
