In the method for manufacturing embossing rollers for a device for embossing packaging materials that comprises a set of at least two embossing rollers of which one is driven, and whereby the embossing roller set comprises a male roller having a male surface structure including structural elements and/or logo structures and a female roller having a female surface structure that is associated to the surface structure of the male roller for the common embossing operation with the male roller, the female surface structure is produced independently of a previously produced or physically pre-existing associated male surface structure. Along with a high embossing accuracy, this allows creating a very large variety of embossing structures, on one hand, and using a very large number of the most diverse materials, on the other hand, as well as reducing transverse tensions in the embossed material.

Method for manufacturing a set of embossing rollers

The embossing device for embossing packaging material comprises a set of embossing rollers with male die and female die rollers co-operating with one another, the surface of which is provided with texture elements, wherein the texture elements (M6R6) on the surface of the female die roller (M6), which are assigned to the texture elements (P6E6) on the surface of the male die roller (P6) are not inversely congruent by an amount of above 15 µm in axial and radial direction and the texture elements of the male die and female roller associated with one another comprise facets (F) for the purpose of local pressure elevation. A facet (F) comprises faces (FN), which with respect to the imaginary, continuous surface of the texture is inclined. With such facetted rollers, a very large variety of films can be embossed in an aesthetically appealing manner, wherein the films can be mainly employed in the tobacco and foodstuff industry.

Device for embossing packaging material with a set of embossing rollers of the male-female die type

Slitting unit forming part of a machine for production of carton blanks, in particular blanks made of cardboard or corrugated cardboard. The unit (2) comprises working wheels (12, 24, 25, 28) which are opposite in pairs, one wheel in at least one pair (24) being made with at least one slitting knife (26) extending over a part of the periphery of the wheel while the periphery of the other wheel in said pair is made with a slot for receiving the knife. The unit also comprises a vacuum belt (6) running adjacently to each slitting-wheel pair (24; 25) for securing and feeding the blanks (10). The wheels (24; 25) in each slitting-wheel pair are mounted in an upper and, respectively, a lower stand unit (3, 4) at least a portion of that part of one stand unit (4) which faces towards the other (3) being made in the form of a vacuum box. The vacuum belt (6) runs around this stand unit (4) and over the vacuum box, it being possible for the blanks (10) to be held fixed on the belt by the effect of suction from the vacuum box during transport through the slitting-wheel pair (24; 25).

Slitting unit for carton blank production

In a transverse grooving tool the groove webs are continuously adjustable with respect to the body in the running direction and can be fixed in any set position and for this purpose sliding guides and clamping means are provided. Adjacent to at least one adjustable working member can also be provided a non-adjustable working member, e.g. a further grooving tool and/or a balancing weight. As the working members are also interchangeable, there are numerous possibilities for reequipping the tool.

Machining tool, particularly a transverse stamping tool for layer material

To apply variable pleating to paper or filter material, and the like, a material (5) is pulled by draw rollers (4) through the gap between two notched rollers (1). The rollers (1) are fitted with surface notcher blades (2) and counter surfaces (3) at given angular intervals to form a gap where the material (5) can be drawn through at different speeds. The material (5) is given notch markings, in steps, at the upper and lower surfaces in variable time sequences, to give the folding lines to give the material its folds after pleating. USE/ADVANTAGE - The method is for processing paper material and the like to be used as air filters where, after pleating, the material gives the max. filtering surface within the filter space. The method gives pleating folds of various intervals, as required, without roller changes.

A method of producing stamped or embossed patterns in material webs, especially in paper, cardboard or metal foils, between a stamping cylinder (patrix) and a counter-pressure cylinder (matrix) between which the material web travels within a cylinder printing machine, thereby to become stamped or embossed after the application of the printing inks, wherein the stamping cylinder (1) and the counter-pressure cylinder (2) deform or shape the material web passing through between them, only in the area of the stamped or embossed patterns, and the stamping cylinder (1) effects the shaping unilaterally in the stamping or embossing area, characterized in that the material web (3) is passed through between the stamping and counter-pressure cylinders (1, 2) under a tension as corresponds to the tension for moving the web within the color printing machine, and that, to this effect, the pressure exerted on the travelling material web (3) running between the stamping and counter-pressure cylinders (1, 2) is as most as high as the pressure (applied) between the color printing and/or presser rollers operationally located upstream of the stamping and counter-pressure cylinders.
