An Efficient Pipeline to Obtain 3D Model for HBIM and Structural Analysis Purposes from 3D Point Clouds
TL;DR: The aim of this work is to identify an efficient pipeline in order to build HBIM (heritage building information modelling) and create digital models to be used in structural analysis and to describe the different phases involving the construction of a 3D model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Scan to BIM for the digital management and representation in 3D GIS environment of cultural heritage site
Massimiliano Pepe,Domenica Costantino,Vincenzo Saverio Alfio,Alfredo Garofalo Restuccia,Nicola Massimiliano Papalino +4 more
TL;DR: A novel Scan to BIM method applied to cultural heritage field to build 3D GIS model able to connect different databases and allowing a multidisciplinary approach is applied to a rock church located in the famous ceramics district of Grottaglie.
Journal ArticleDOI
Scan to bim for 3d reconstruction of the papal basilica of saint francis in assisi in italy
TL;DR: In this article, the authors illustrate the methodology and the results obtained from integrated laser scanning activity in order to have precious architectural information useful not only from the cultural heritage point of view but also to construct more operative and powerful tools, such as BIM (Building Information Modelling) aimed to the management of this cultural heritage.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of Image TIFF Format and JPEG Compression Level in the Accuracy of the 3D Model and Quality of the Orthophoto in UAV Photogrammetry.
TL;DR: The results show a slight influence of image format and compression levels in flat or slightly flat surfaces; in the case of a complex 3D model, instead, the choice of a format became important and processing times were found to also play a key role, especially in point cloud generation.
Journal ArticleDOI
UAV for monitoring the settlement of a landfill
Valerio Baiocchi,Quintilio Napoleoni,Martina Tesei,Giampaolo Servodio,Maria Alicandro,Domenica Costantino +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the possibility to fly over the areas to be surveyed without the use of the remote pilot aircraft is investigated. But their potential in the various fields is often still to be fully investigated.
