Journal ArticleDOI

Normal values of Pulsatility Index from fetal vessels: a cross-sectional study on 1556 healthy fetuses.

TL;DR: In a cross-sectional study of 1556 uncomplicated pregnancies velocity waveforms were recorded at the level of fetal umbilical artery, descending aorta, renal artery, internal carotid artery and middle cerebral artery and the ratios between Pulsatility Index values of cerebral and peripheral vessels which may be relevant for the early diagnosis of the haemodynamic abnormalities occurring during the brain sparing effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

Linear and nonlinear parameters for the analysisof fetal heart rate signal from cardiotocographic recordings

TL;DR: Results constitute the first step for realizing a new clinical classification system for the early diagnosis of most common fetal pathologies, based on a multiparametric FHR analysis, which includes spectral parameters from autoregressive models and nonlinear algorithms (approximate entropy).
Journal ArticleDOI

Fetal cardiac function in intrauterine growth retardation.

TL;DR: Evidence is provided of a modified cardiac function that seems to deteriorate progressively with the advancing gestation of fetuses with intrauterine growth retardation and the fall in cardiac output and aortic and pulmonary peak velocities was directly related to umbilical artery pH at birth.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adenomyosis: Three-dimensional sonographic findings of the junctional zone and correlation with histology

TL;DR: To correlate with histopathological features the adenomyosis‐induced morphological alterations of the outer myometrium and the inner myometrial (‘junctional zone’, JZ) detectable on two‐ (2D) and three‐dimensional (3D) transvaginal ultrasound imaging (TVS) and to evaluate their diagnostic accuracy for adenomeosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Doppler indices from inferior vena cava and ductus venosus in predicting pH and oxygen tension in umbilical blood at cordocentesis in growth-retarded fetuses.

TL;DR: The data suggest that acidosis in growth‐retarded fetuses may be non‐invasively identified by Doppler measurements of the inferior vena cava and that a higher efficiency can be achieved by the use of the pre‐load index.
