A pourer has radial sealing flanges 2 through which a conduit 5 and air vent 10 pass. A valve member 18 selectively closes the conduit and a further sealing element 15 selectively seals against a lower region of the bottles neck to prevent flow. The conduit valve and the further sealing element are connected by a stem 14 so that either one or the other prevents discharge from the bottle. This enables the region between the valve and the sealing member to be filled ant then emptied resulting in doses of the contents similarly to an optic. Inverting the bottle could open valve 18 and seal element 15 due to a weight, a spring, and/or flow of fluid past it. The sealing element may expand due to deformable material in response to a compressive force between the stem and a tube. The further sealing member could be a flexible disc which can be withdrawn into a receptacle, the further sealing member may have a valve in it.

A device and technique for proportioning of beverages while they flow which employ the working of gravity on a cyclic basis. The technique is based on a driving wheel's rotation which is being initiated by an outflow of liquid. For the duration of a single cycle of proportioning, a set amount of beverage is allowed to flow out, which is in a direct ratio to the continuance of a proportioning cycle as completed by the driving wheel and in a reverse ratio to the rate of rotation. The rate of rotation is being set by the degree of inclination of the driving wheel's blades. The higher the blades' degree of inclination, the higher the driving wheel's rate of rotation is; this results in a smaller amount of liquid allowed to flow out (i.e. be proportioned) for the duration of a single cycle, and vice versa.

A technique and device for proportioning of beverages while they flow

A baby or infant feed bottle 1 which includes a volumetric control mechanism and a timer 16 to dispense specific volumes of feed at controllable time intervals. Preferably the bottle 1 is electronically programmable to control feed quantity, duration and intervals. Alternatively the feeding intervals may be controlled without limiting the quantity for night time feeding. The bottle 1 may have a decelerating or variable resistance flow gauge 9 to increase flow resistance towards the end of the feeding cycle. An override button may be provided to permit continuous feeding. The flow gauge 9 may be in the form of a unidirectional rotating element mounted on a spindle which activated by the timer 16.

The invention relates to a vocal quantitative dumping mechanism aiming at non-viscous liquid. The vocal quantitative dumping mechanism comprises a turbine, an escapement mechanism, a voice mechanism, an opening and closing mechanism, a measuring display mechanism and a spring. The energy of the dumping mechanism comprises two parts of power done by the spring and effluent liquid. In use, a user firstly rotates a measuring knob to a needed liquid amount and then dumps a packaging container to dump liquid so that the liquid flows by the turbine and drives the turbine to rotate; the turbine drives the escapement mechanism to do reciprocating motion; the escapement mechanism controls a pointer of a measuring mechanism to start to rotate; the pointer gradually rotates back to a start position along with the continuous dumping of the liquid under the driving of spring energy; and meanwhile, the voice mechanism is also driven by the energy of the spring to knock and sound every time when a certain amount of liquid is dumped. When the liquid is dumped to an appointed amount, the pointer rightly returns back to an initial scale of zero, a sealing wafer is drawn back, and the liquid can notflow out any more.

A flow control device for a fluid container comprises flow control means (2) which allow passage of fluid and limiting means (4, 5, 6) which prevent further outward flow of fluid once a predetermined total volume of fluid has passed through the fluid control means (2). The device prevents re-use of the container if refilled with a counterfeit product.
