Lack of N-Hydroxy-2-acetylaminofluorene Sulfotransferase Activity in the Mammary Gland and Zymbal's Gland of the Rat

TL;DR: The O -sulfonate of N -hydroxy-2-acetylaminofluorene, reported to be an ultimate reactive metabolite of these carcinogens in male rat liver, does not appear to be involved in the mechanism of carcinogenesis in all tissues of the rat in which tumors are induced by these compounds.
Journal Article

The binding of 7,12-dimethylbenz(a)anthracene to mammary parenchyma DNA and protein in vivo.

TL;DR: Increased parenchymal cell DNA content, due to cellular proliferation resulting from DMBA-induced tumorigenesis, was not responsible for the decreased DNA specific activity observed at 14 and 42 days.
Journal ArticleDOI

Age-Related Modification of 7,12-Dimethylbenz[a]anthracene Binding to Rat Mammary Gland DNA

TL;DR: Results indicated that a significant correlation existed between the age of the rat, the amount of DMBA bound to DNA, and the incidence of mammary tumors following carcinogen feeding.
