The skirting board (1) is designed to be height-adjustable. It may consist of a 10 mm thick strip of polyethylene foam of density 20 kg per cu metre. The height of the plastics strip is between 80 and 200 mm. There are weakening slits (6) near the top of the plastics strip so that pieces may be broken off to reduce the height. A thin foil (2) is wrapped around the lower edge of the plastics strip. It is 0.3 to 0.9 mm thick and one edge (3) extends up the back of the strip. The plastics strip may be inserted between the wall and the edge of the floor or may rest on top of the floor. The edge (4) of the plastics foil in front of the plastics strip extends out over the floor.

The invention proposes an edge insulating strip for structures, which strip comprises a corrugated paper strip which is covered, on the corrugated side, with a rigid foam and, on the other, smooth side, with wax. The corrugation valleys run, for example, horizontally and the edge strip has a projection which is angled off and overlapped by insulating material or the like. On its side directed away from the structural part being erected, the edge insulating strip is optionally covered by a double-layered sheet which, in the opened-up state, is coated by the screed.

The invention discloses a heat pipe type floor heating system. The heat pipe type floor heating system comprises a plurality of heat pipes, a heat source body and a ground heat insulating layer, wherein a heat transfer system composed of the heat pipes and the heat source body is arranged on the ground heat insulating layer. A working medium playing a part in phase-change heat transfer is sealed inside each heat pipe after the heat pipe is vacuumized, a heat-absorbing section of each heat pipe is connected with the heat source body, a heat radiating section of each heat pipe radiates heat to a room, and therefore heating of the room is achieved. Through a heat transfer method, efficient heat transfer of floor heating is achieved by sufficiently utilizing an efficient heat transfer property of the heat pipes. The heat pipe type floor heating system has the obvious advantages of being high in heat transfer efficiency, high in temperature rise speed, uniform in heat distribution, high in pressure bearing capacity, high in safety, good in freezing resistance, convenient to install, easy to repair and maintain and the like.

An expansion joint for placing between screed sections has a plastic foam inner (4) bonded on each side to plastic film outer layers (2,3). The bottom ends of the plastic film layers extend past the bottom edge of the foam strip and are bent into L-shapes w.r.t. the joint. The expansion joint is secured onto the base layer by self adhesive tape under the L-shaped profiles. Holes can be cut through the joint to fit over pipes and cables.

Method for manufacturing a dilatation joint material for floating floors

During application of a screed floating floor, the edge insulating strip, which produces a lateral insulation between this screed floating floor and the wall of the building, is not, as previously, fastened on the bottom edge of the wall prior to application of the insulating material layer on the crude floor, but is formed as an angled profile, one leg of which is bonded adhesively to the surface of the insulating material layer to the surface after the latter has been applied. It is thus possible, in spite of different thicknesses of insulating material layers, always to use an equally wide edge insulating strip. Moreover, the formation of footstep sound bridges from screed material is prevented as a result of the good seal against liquids between the edge insulating material and the surface of the layer of insulating material.

Screed floating floor

In order to obtain an essentially constant surface temperature of the floor beyond the length of the heating pipe inlaid in the floor in a floor heating system, the heat transfer from the feed to the return increases gradually or stepwise, or the heat transfer resistance above the heating pipe decreases gradually or stepwise from the feed to the return. This is effected when the distance between the pipe and the floor surface is larger in the region of the feed than in the region of the return, or when in the region of the feed an additional heat barrier layer is fitted on the upper side of the pipe. The heat barrier layer is bonded by means of a hand device to the upper side of the pipe. Spacers of different heights are used to set the different height levels of the pipe sections in the floor.
