2-Hydroxyphenyl-s-triazines of formula I ##STR1## wherein X, Y, R1, R2 and R3 are as defined in claim 1 and at least one of the substituents R1 and R2 is a water-solubilizing group, are suitable light stabilizing additives for aqueous ink compositions, preferably for ink jet printing and appropriate recording materials.

The invention concerns novel insoluble s-triazine derivatives bearing benzotriazole and/or benzathiozole groups, their method of preparation and their use in particulate form as UV filters, in particular in cosmetics.
