The evolution in the concepts of ecosystems, conservation biology, environmental management, natural heritage, cultural heritage, well-being and sustainable development have allowed the creation of multidisciplinary teamwork in recent years. These disciplines use ecosystem, participatory and strategic approaches in their management activities. However, some limitations in the concept of natural heritage and its relationship with environmental management and conservation biology may limit the use of these approaches in integrated management models. That is why the present research has the general objective to elaborate and model a conceptual proposal of natural heritage in environmental management for ecosystems conservation, by means of theoretical and empirical methods. This conceptual model applies special emphasis on the intrinsic value of natural heritage. From the point of view of environmental management, ecosystems conservation is possible through intentional processes, with ecosystem approaches and proposals of values, attributes and dimensions to achieve the well-being of society in a sustainable way.

Fungi infecting Escobaria cubensis and Melocactus holguinensis (Cactaceae) in northeastern Cuba

Se abordo una investigacion sobre la historia de los estudios de la ecologia y conservacion del habitat del cactus enano de Holguin, Escobaria cubensis (Britton & Rose) Hunt, desde 1990 hasta nuestros dias. Se estudiaron 34 materiales y se consultaron expertos en el tema. Las investigaciones sobre la historia natural de esta especie han contribuido a su conservacion, lo cual ha demostrado la necesidad de la formacion de equipos multidisciplinarios. ABSTRACT It is the second part of an investigation on the history of the studies of the ecology and habitat conservation of the “dwarf cactus from Holguin", Escobaria cubensis (Britton & Rose) Hunt, from 1990 until today. There were studied 34 materials, and experts were also consulted. The investigations on the natural history of this specie have contributed to its conservation, which has demonstrated the need of multidisciplinary teams.

The story of a specie of holguin patrimony: escobaria cubensis (cactaceae) the dwarf cacti

Innovation by projects is considered one of the main sources of impact of science and technology, however, the valuation of these is a problem, not yet fully resolved, despite the efforts made by different researchers and organizations, this reality does not escape the sports organizations. The aim of this article is to assess the impact of innovation by projects, managed by the Faculty of Physical Culture of Granma, from a constructivist model. The research required empirical methods such as the review of official documents, observation and interview, as well as the multivariate graphic method and arithmetic procedures; the latter allowed the impact of the innovations to be evaluated as favourable, relevant, sustainable and with performance in the saturation phase, five years after the financial execution of the projects used as a sample was concluded.

Science, technology and innovation projects must provide solutions to social and economic problems. However, the fragmented and operational vision of the concluding phase of the project life cycle does not contribute to its successful generation. For this reason, the research supported a systemic approach and a specific methodological treatment for the intentional and proactive management of this phase towards obtaining results with use value in projects not associated to research and development programs. The structuring of a four-stage procedure: conjecture, programming, realization and decommissioning, applied at the Center for Research and Environmental Services of Holguin from 2014 to 2016, demonstrated the possibility of contributing to the production of applicable results.

Fase conclusiva de proyectos de investigación y desarrollo. Su relevancia, resultados aplicables

Environmental management is indispensable for organizations that are in favor of sustainable development, among them are science entities. The scientific production of the Center for Research and Environmental Services in Holguin has a connotation in these topics. However, it showed limitations within the organization. A procedure was designed to establish an Environmental Management System, which benefits from the essence of this type of organization. The first results of its implementation made it possible to take advantage of the strengths of the organization to solve various environmental problems and work towards sustainable development.

Gestión ambiental organizacional en el Centro de Investigaciones y Servicios Ambientales Holguín

Knowledge management and the valorization of scientific results are systemic and strategic processes that optimize the use of knowledge. In this context, they served as the basis for structuring a procedure that facilitates the delivery of coherent results in core and structure produced by research and development projects, prepared for its use, commercialization and impact assessment. The procedure allowed decision making in the closure of the research-production-marketing cycle in the Holguin Research and Environmental Services Center.
