Innovative Techniques of Processing Human Milk to Preserve Key Components
Aleksandra Wesołowska,Elena Sinkiewicz-Darol,Olga Barbarska,Urszula Bernatowicz-Lojko,Maria Katarzyna Borszewska-Kornacka,Johannes B. van Goudoever +5 more
TL;DR: This narrative review presents an overview of methods of human milk preservation that have been explored to improve the safety and quality of donor milk and identifies the most promising thermal pasteurization condition (72 °C–75 °C), and a few non-thermal processes were discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
New Achievements in High-Pressure Processing to Preserve Human Milk Bioactivity.
Aleksandra Wesołowska,Elena Sinkiewicz-Darol,Olga Barbarska,Kamila Strom,Małgorzata Rutkowska,Katarzyna Karzel,Elżbieta Rosiak,Gabriela Olędzka,Magdalena Orczyk-Pawiłowicz,Sylwester J. Rzoska,Maria Katarzyna Borszewska-Kornacka +10 more
TL;DR: The results showed that HPP leads to preservation of adipokines, growth factor, and lactoferrin, IgG much better or comparable with HoP and resulted not statistically significant change of adiponectin level compare to raw milk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tandem Breastfeeding: A Descriptive Analysis of the Nutritional Value of Milk When Feeding a Younger and Older Child.
Elena Sinkiewicz-Darol,Urszula Bernatowicz-Łojko,Katarzyna Łubiech,Iwona Adamczyk,Magdalena Twarużek,Barbara Baranowska,Krzysztof Skowron,Diane L. Spatz +7 more
TL;DR: Higher fat content, energy value and total protein concentration was found in TBFM milk during tandem breastfeeding, than in milk after weaning the older child, and an adaptive role of human milk to nutrient requirements of newborn and older children is suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI
Leptin in Human Milk—One of the Key Regulators of Nutritional Programming
Elena Sinkiewicz-Darol,Iwona Adamczyk,Katarzyna Łubiech,Gabriela Pilarska,Magdalena Twarużek +4 more
TL;DR: Understanding the effects of breastfeeding as a natural source of leptin can help prevent childhood obesity and development of this disease in future life.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of pasteurization on melatonin concentration in human breast milk
Agnieszka Chrustek,Elena Sinkiewicz-Darol,Magdalena Lampka,Dorota Olszewska-Słonina,Beata Sperkowska,Kinga Linowiecka +5 more
TL;DR: In this article , the effect of Holder pasteurization on melatonin concentration in human milk was examined by ELISA and the nutritional content composition of milk was analyzed using MIRIS Human Milk Analyzer and correlations examined.
