Deacidification of palm oil using betaine monohydrate-based natural deep eutectic solvents

TL;DR: The betaine monohydrate-glycerol NADES in a molar ratio of 1:8 was determined to be the preferred solvent with the highest selectivity and the amount of antioxidants can be preserved in the refined palm oil up to 99%.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) as green solvents for carbon dioxide capture

TL;DR: In this paper, the effectiveness of Natural Deep Eutectic Solvent (NADES), consisting of choline chloride and a hydrogen bonding donor (HBD) compound, in terms of carbon dioxide absorption was evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polyalcohols as hydrogen-bonding donors in choline chloride-based deep eutectic solvents for extraction of xanthones from the pericarp of Garcinia mangostana L.

TL;DR: The ChCl-1,2-propanediol DES is selected from a set of DESs having a homologous class of HBDs to deliver the highest α-mangostin extraction yield, its extract composition similar to that obtained using ethanol, it has low or negligible vapor pressure, and this DES is used for utilization of agricultural waste products as the resource of bioactive compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of magnetic field on calcium carbonate precipitation: Ionic and particle mechanisms

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of magnetic fields on CaCO3 precipitate was investigated using both ionic and particle methods, and the results showed that the ionic method showed reductions in Ca CO3 deposit and total precipita- tion rate, whereas the particle method showed the opposite results.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Extraction of vitexin from binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) leaves using betaine - 1,4 butanediol natural deep eutectic solvent (NADES)

TL;DR: In this paper, a betaine-based Natural Deep Eutectic Solvent (NADES) was used to replace the conventional organic solvents, as it is an environmentally friendly, non-toxic and high boiling point solvent.
