TL;DR: A series of polyquinone samples has been pyrolysed in order to elucidate the gaseous product formation from macromolecules involving aromatic segments and carboxyl side groups, as well as carbonyl, ether, methylene, sulfide bridges and oxygen-, sulfur- and nitrogen-containing heterocyclic segments as discussed by the authors.
