PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inorganic filler without almost containing coarse particles having a particle diameter of 3 μm or more.SOLUTION: It was found that aggregation during classification operations is suppressed by incorporating a fine particle material in a nanometer order having predetermined properties. By mixing such a fine particle material at a predetermined ratio, aggregation of particles composed of an inorganic material is effectively suppressed. Conventionally, classification was difficult because agglomerates having a size exceeding the size of the coarse size are generated by aggregation even when coarse particles are removed by classification, however, the generation of such agglomerates is suppressed by addition of a fine particle material. An inorganic filler contains a fine particle material and has inorganic particles having a volume average particle size of 0.1 to 3 μm in which the number of coarse particles having a predetermined particle diameter or more is 10 pieces or less in 0.35 μL of a dispersion prepared so as to be 0.5 mass% and the predetermined particle diameter is 3 μm. The inorganic filler can be used for more precise applications than conventional ones by reducing the content of coarse particles having a particle diameter of 3 μm or more to an extremely small amount.SELECTED DRAWING: None

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a Si-based alloy negative electrode material for power storage device of less impurities efficiently.SOLUTION: According to a production method, an alloy is heated at first (STEP1). The alloy is melted by heating. This alloy is then quenched (STEP2). Primary powder is obtained by quenching. This primary powder is pulverized by a dry jet mill device. By the pulverization, secondary powder having cumulative 50 vol% particle size (D) of 0.1-10.0 μm is obtained. This secondary powder includes Si phase where Si is a main component. This alloy further includes Si and one or more elements other than Si.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a mixed inorganic filler with a high density in a short time by a simple process by previously mixing two or more kinds of inorganic substances with different particle sizes, pulverizing the mixture with high speed air flow, and then sorting the pulverized mixture in the case of producing the mixed inorganic filler from two or more kinds of inorganic substances with different particle sizes. SOLUTION: Common fillers such as silica, alumina, zirconia, aluminum hydroxide, etc., are among the inorganic particles to be used. Two or more kinds of such inorganic particles are use. In this case, one of the particle preferably has 0.01-1μm particle size. At the time of mixing these inorganic particles, the particles are previously mixed by using a mixing apparatus in a dry and batch manner and the pre-mixed coarse powder mixture is pulverized by high speed air flow. The apparatus to be used for mixing and pulverizing the powder is preferably a jet mill. After that, in the sorting process, the sorting is carried out by using a centrifugal mixing type sorting apparatus, especially mesh type sorting apparatus, and consequently, a uniform mixture is produced.
