The invention provides an apparatus and method for perforating and treating multiple intervals of one or more subterranean formations (86) intersected by a wellbore by deploying a bottom-hole assembly having a perforating device (134) and at least one sealing mechanism (120) within said wellbore. The perforating device (134) is used to perforate the first interval to be treated. Then the bottom-hole assembly is positioned within the wellbore such that the sealing mechanism (120), when actuated, establishes a hydraulic seal in the wellbore to positively force fluid to enter the perforations (230, 231) corresponding to the first interval to be treated. A treating fluid is then pumped down the wellbore and into the perforations (230, 231) created in the perforated interval. The sealing mechanism (120) is released, and the steps are then repeated for as many intervals as desired, without removing the bottom hole assembly from said wellbore.

Method and apparatus for stimulation of multiple formation intervals

A method for treating multiple intervals in a wellbore by perforating at least one interval (32, 33, or 34) then treating and isolating the perforated interval(s) (32, 33, or 34) without removing the perforating sleeve (101) from the wellbore during the treatment or isolation. A disposable downhole tool or a component thereof comprises an effective amount of biodegradable material such that the tool or the component thereof desirably decomposes when exposed to a wellbore environment. In an embodiment, the biodegradable material comprises a degradable polymer. The biodegradable material may further comprise a hydrated organic or inorganic solid compound. The biodegradable material may also be selected to achieve a desired decomposition rate when the tool is exposed to the wellbore environment. In an embodiment, the disposable downhole tool further comprises an enclosure for storing a chemical solution that catalyzes decomposition. The tool may also comprise an activation mechanism for releasing the chemical solution from the enclosure. In various embodiments, the disposable downhole tool is a frac plug, a bridge plug, or a packer.

The composition of the present invention comprises a wellbore fluid having dispersed therein a fluid loss control agent comprising a polyester polymer which is substantially insoluble in the wellbore fluid. The polymer degrades in the presence of water at an elevated temperature to form small molecules which are soluble in a fluid in the subterranean formation. The method of the present invention comprises reducing the permeability of subterranean formations penetrated by a wellbore by placing the composition of the present invention down the wellbore.

Method for reducing the permeability of subterranean formations

A ball sealer for use as a diverting agent when treating a well having a perforated casing. The ball sealer is sized to plug a perforation and has a density less than the treating fluid. The ball sealer is made of a core material, such as syntactic foam or polymethylpentene, and a covering of a thin layer of an elastomeric material. After some of the treating fluid has been injected into the well, the ball sealers are injected and carried by the fluid flow down to the perforations where they seat and divert the further injection of treating fluid through the remaining open perforations.
