Synchronization method for the transmission, of an asynchronous channel, or a series of pictures encoded by means of a variable length code, and device for the implementation of this method

Eric Auvray, +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a synchronization method for the transmission of digital video pictures on an asynchronous channel, which consists in transmitting, in addition to the data: inter-block separators, for separating the data corresponding to separate blocks, each interblock separator comprising: a fixed radical, a first binary word representing the rank of a block of picture elements associated with this separator, and a second binary words representing the sum of this rank and of the number of events which are encoded by the block associated with the separator.

Adaptive method of transform coding and decoding a sequence of pictures, and devices for carrying out this method

TL;DR: In this article, an adaptive method for coding and decoding a series of images by transformation is proposed, in which each image is divided into image element frames, each frame being represented by a frame of luminance values, and each frame corresponding to the corresponding color difference values.

Method of synchronizing, for transmission, on an asynchronous channel, a sequence of pictures coded with a variable-length code, and device for carrying out this method

Eric Auvray, +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a synchronization method for the transmission of digital video over an asynchronous channel was proposed. But it is not clear whether it can be applied to the case of images transmitted over a canal asynchrone.

Synchronization device and method for the transmission of a series of images coded by means of a variable length code

Eric Auvray, +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a synchronization method comprising the transmission of inter-frame separators, in addition to data, in order to separate the data corresponding to distinct frames, each interframe separated comprising a fixed radical, a first binary word translating the rank of a frame of image elements associated with such separator, and the sum of said rank with the number of events which are coded by the corresponding to the frame associated to the separator.
