Metabolic thalamocortical correlations during a verbal learning task and their comparison with correlations among regional volumes.
Serge A. Mitelman,William Byne,Eileen Kemether,Randall E. Newmark,Erin A. Hazlett,M. Mehmet Haznedar,Monte S. Buchsbaum +6 more
TL;DR: Different correlation patterns were observed for the regional gray matter volumes whereby only the pulvinar yielded extensive cortical intercorrelations, primarily with the occipital, parietal, anterior cingulate, and orbitofrontal areas in the right hemisphere.
Journal ArticleDOI
Startle amplitude during unpleasant pictures is greater in veterans with a history of multiple-suicide attempts and predicts a future suicide attempt.
Erin A. Hazlett,Nicholas J. Blair,Nicolas Fernandez,Kathryn A. Mascitelli,M. Mercedes Perez-Rodriguez,Antonia S. New,Raymond R. Goetz,Marianne Goodman +7 more
TL;DR: Findings suggest that startle potentiation during unpleasant pictures in multiple-suicide attempters is a promising psychophysiological biomarker of suicide risk and underscore the clinical importance of targeting emotion dysregulation in the treatment of patients at-risk for suicide.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reprint of: F-18Fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography studies of the schizophrenia spectrum: The legacy of Monte S. Buchsbaum, M.D.
Erin A. Hazlett,Erin A. Hazlett,Daniel H. Vaccaro,Daniel H. Vaccaro,M. Mehmet Haznedar,M. Mehmet Haznedar,Kim E. Goldstein,Kim E. Goldstein +7 more
TL;DR: These findings indicated that SPD patients have less marked frontal lobe and striatal dysfunction compared with schizophrenia patients, possibly mitigating frank psychosis and pioneering work employing the first double-blind randomized antipsychotic vs. placebo FDG-PET study design in schizophrenia indicated that GMR in the striatum was related to clinical response.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of self-report and clinician-rated schizotypal traits in schizotypal personality disorder and community controls
Chi C. Chan,Chi C. Chan,Andrea Bulbena-Cabre,Sarah B Rutter,Caridad Benavides,Margaret M. McClure,William Calabrese,Daniel R. Rosell,Harold W. Koenigsberg,Marianne Goodman,Antonia S. New,Erin A. Hazlett,M. Mercedes Perez-Rodriguez +12 more
TL;DR: Assessment of schizotypal traits should include both self-report questionnaires and clinician ratings, whereas certain disorganization and interpersonal traits are not, particularly for individuals with SPD.
