Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of androgen on sexual behavior in hypogonadal men.

TL;DR: It is concluded that the stimulatory effects of testosterone on sexual activity are rapid, reliable, and not due to a placebo effect and to maintain plasma testosterone and adequate sexual function within normal levels, even high doses of testosterone enanthate should be given no less frequency than once every 3 weeks.
Journal ArticleDOI

The relationship between circulating testosterone levels and male sexual behavior in rats

TL;DR: It was concluded that the absence of relationships between circulating T and sexual behavior in the normal rat population is due to the androgen requirement for this behavior being less than the amount normally present.
Journal ArticleDOI

An effect of castration and testosterone replacement on a circadian pacemaker in mice (Mus musculus)

TL;DR: Castration of mice in freerunning conditions causes a reduction of running wheel activity in the beginning of the active period and stimulates activity at the end of alpha, and the period of theFreerunning rhythm is increased.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhancement of sexual motivation in male rats by yohimbine.

TL;DR: Yohimbine hydrochloride, an alpha 2-adrenoceptor antagonist, increased sexual motivation in male rats as evidenced by increased mounting performance in mating tests conducted after genital anesthetization, and induction of copulatory behavior in sexually inactive male rats.
