Journal ArticleDOI

Fish diversity and its relationships with environmental variables in a West African basin

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the relationship between species distribution and environmental variables in the Boubo River, a coastal river in Ivory Coast, and found a significant correlation between species distributions and environmental factors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influential environmental gradients and patterns of fish assemblages in a West African basin

TL;DR: Canonical Correspondence Analysis indicated that canopy closure, leaves-wood, aquatic plants, temperature, width, total dissolved solids and depth were the environmental factors most strongly correlated with variation in the fish assemblages.
Journal ArticleDOI

Food composition and feeding habits of little tunny (Euthynnus alletteratus) in continental shelf waters of Côte d'Ivoire (West Africa)

TL;DR: The stomach contents of 170 little tunny, Euthynnus alletteratus, sampled between June 2003 and December 2004 were examined as discussed by the authors, and it was found that fish were the dominant prey of all sizes of the tunny.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fish meal replacement by Cirina butyrospermi caterpillar's meal in practical diets for Clarias gariepinus fingerlings

TL;DR: This study demonstrates that 50% of fish meal can successfully be replaced with CBM in C. gariepinus fingerlings diet without a negative impact on growth or feed utilization, which will yield a cheaper feeding for profitable production of African catfish fingerlings.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fish assemblages in relation to environmental gradients along a small west African coastal basin, the San Pedro River, Ivory Coast

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the San Pedro River, Ivory Coast, to assess whether distinct types of assemblage exist along longitudinal gradients within this small coastal basin, finding a total of 45 species: 28 in the lower and the upper courses of the river and 29 in Fae man-made lake.
