Impact of Family Efficacy Beliefs on Quality of Family Functioning and Satisfaction with Family Life

TL;DR: In this article, a structural model of the interplay of perceived dyadic and collective forms of efficacy within the interdependent family system was tested with 142 families and the authors found that collective family efficacy contributed to parents' and adolescents' satisfaction with their family life both directly and through its impact on quality of family functioning.

Cohesion and enmeshment revisited : Differentiation, identity, and well-being in two european cultures

TL;DR: This paper examined the nature and implications of family differentiation among adolescents facing a life transition in 2 European countries with differing family cultures, and found that family cohesion was associated with better psychological well-being in both countries; enmeshment was correlated with poorer psychological well being in the U.K. but positively correlated in Italy.
