Seismic fragility of typical bridges in moderate seismic zones

TL;DR: In this paper, a set of fragility curves for the bridges commonly found in the Central and Southeastern United States (CSUS) are presented using nonlinear analytical models, and a suite of synthetic ground motions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rapid seismic damage evaluation of bridge portfolios using machine learning techniques

TL;DR: A methodology for the rapid damage state assessment of bridges utilizing the capabilities of machine learning techniques is proposed and revealed that input parameters such as span length and reinforcement ratio in addition to the ground motion intensity parameter have a significant influence on the expected damage state.
Journal ArticleDOI

Flexural capacity of fiber reinforced concrete with a consideration of concrete strength and fiber content

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of concrete strength and fiber content ratio on the flexural capacity of steel fiber-reinforced concrete floor slabs were examined, and the results showed that the equivalent flexural strength ratio, which is determined from the first peak strength and energy absorption capacity, increased with an increase in the fiber volume fraction but decreased with the increase in concrete strength.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new concept of isolation bearings for highway steel bridges using shape memory alloys

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a new concept of an i.i.d. bearing to improve the instability and unrecovered deformation of lead-rubber bearings with strong ground motion.
