Journal ArticleDOI

Survival and growth of goat primordial follicles after in vitro culture of ovarian cortical slices in media containing coconut water.

TL;DR: It is shown that goat primordial follicles may be successfully activated after in vitro culture in all media tested, however, when pure CWS is used the follicular degeneration is enhanced, but the addition of supplements to culture media decrease follicle degeneration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Estimate of the population of preantral follicles in the ovaries of Bos taurus indicus and Bos taurus taurus cattle

TL;DR: It is inferred that mechanisms controlling follicle development after the preantral stage likely accounted for differences between Bos indicus and Bos taurus females in number of oocytes retrieved at ovum pick-up.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interactions of indole acetic acid with EGF and FSH in the culture of ovine preantral follicles.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of adding indole acetic acid (IAA), epidermal growth factor (EGF) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) to the media for in vitro culture of ovine ovarian fragments and determine their effects on growth activation and viability of preantral follicles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of storage time and temperature on atresia of goat ovarian preantral follicles held in M199 with or without indole-3-acetic acid supplementation

TL;DR: Histological analysis showed that storage of ovarian fragments in either solution at 20 or 39 degrees C significantly reduced the percentage of normal preantral follicles when compared with the control, in all cases except after preservation in M199IAA at 20 degrees C for 4 h.
Journal ArticleDOI

Morphological and ultrastructural analysis of sheep primordial follicles preserved in 0.9% saline solution and TCM 199

TL;DR: The objective was to determine the morphological and ultrastructural features of sheep primordial follicles preserved in either 0.9% saline solution or TCM 199 at different temperatures and to confirm histological integrity of primordial hair follicles maintained in fragments stored at 20 degrees C for up to 24h inTCM 199.
