Journal ArticleDOI

Magnetism of the rare earth, 3d { Theoretical review

TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic properties of rare earth and transition metals were investigated and it was shown that the electronic structure of these compounds can explain the large variety of magnetic behavior of these materials.
Journal ArticleDOI

The magnetic structures of Ce3Al11: a single crystal study

TL;DR: In this paper, an ordered Kondo compound with a ferromagnetic structure in the temperature range 3.2 K < T < 6.2 k and a transition to an incommensurate structure at T = 3 K was confirmed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evidence for 5d anisotropic negative polarization along the Ce chains in CeRh3B2

TL;DR: In this article, the magnetization density maps obtained in CeRh3B2 by polarized neutron diffraction show no magnetization on the Rh or B sites and a 4f-type moment localized on the Ce sites.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anomalous magnetic behavior of cerium in Ce2Sn5 and Ce3Sn7, two superstructures of CeSn3

TL;DR: In this article, a strong anisotropy of the interionic exchange coupling is evidenced in both compounds from the magnetization curves and neutron data, within a crystal field model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Coherence effects and 5d contribution to the magnetism of Ce in CeSn3

TL;DR: From magnetic susceptibility and magnetic form factor measurements on stoichiometric and non-stoichiometric CeSn 3 single crystals, it has been shown that the 5d contribution to Ce magnetism which appears at low temperatures exists only in the stoicheometric sample and is destroyed by the presence of defects as mentioned in this paper.
