Preparation of composites and nanocomposites based on bentonite and poly(sodium acrylate). Effect of amount of bentonite on the swelling behaviour

TL;DR: A series of composite and nanocomposite hydrogels were synthesized by copolymerization reaction of partially neutralized acrylic acid (SA) on bentonite micropowder (BT) using N,N′-methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) as a crosslinker and potassium persulfate (I) as an initiator in aqueous solution as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and swelling behaviour of poly (sodium acrylate)/sepiolite superabsorbent composites and nanocomposites

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of novel composites and nanocomposites xerogels based on acrylic acid, sepiolite and N,N′-methylenebisacrylamide were prepared using a solution polymerization technique at 70 °C.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oxidation of 2,3-butanediol by alkaline hexacyanoferrate(III) using Ru(III) or Ru(VI) as catalyst†

TL;DR: In this paper, the reaction rate of 2,3-butanediol by hexacyanoferrate(III) in alkaline medium using ruthenium compounds as catalysts has been studied spectrophotometrically.
Journal ArticleDOI

Superabsorbent hydrogels of poly(sodium acrylate) with crude and exfoliated vermiculites

TL;DR: In this article, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) were used to characterize superabsorbent hydrogels of poly(sodium acrylate) [poly(SA)] with crude vermiculite (CVMT) and exfoliated vermiculate (EVMT) were synthesized and characterized.
Journal ArticleDOI

Kinetic study of the ruthenium(VI)‐catalyzed oxidation of benzyl alcohol by alkaline hexacyanoferrate(III)

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the kinetics of the Ru(VI)-catalyzed oxidation of benzyl alcohol by hexacyanoferrate(III) in an alkaline medium, using a spectrophotometric technique.
