TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a literature review concerning the factors contributing to inefficient management and maintenance of waqf properties globally with a particular focus on Malaysia, and they have five factors identified that consist of; insufficient fund, lack of best performance by a waf manager, unregistered of waf land under SIRC, out-dated data and confiscation of ownership rights by heirs from SIRC.
