There is a growing demand for stretchable strain sensors because of their potential applications in various emerging fields, such as human motion detection, health monitoring, wearable electronics, and soft robotic skin. Recently, strain sensors based on flexible conductive polymer composites (FCPCs) composed of conductive materials and a stretchable elastomer have received intensive attention owing to their high stretchability, good flexibility, excellent durability, tunable strain sensing behaviors, and ease of processing. Here, we systematically summarize the recent progress of stretchable strain sensors based on FCPCs. This review covers the classification and sensing mechanisms as well as the influence of multiple factors on the sensing behaviors of FCPC based strain sensors with detailed examples.

An overview of stretchable strain sensors from conductive polymer nanocomposites

Microcosmic 3D hierarchical structural design has proved to be an effective strategy to obtain high‐performance microwave absorbers, although the treatments to low‐dimensional cells in monolithic framework are usually based on semiempirical rules. In this work, a hierarchical carbon fiber (CF)@MXene@MoS2 (CMM) core‐sheath synergistic structure with tunable and efficient microwave absorption (MA) properties is fabricated by introducing self‐assembled Ti3C2Tx MXene on the surface of CF and subsequent anchoring of MoS2. By the synergistic effects from the MXene sheath increasing the conductive loss and MoS2 at the outermost layer improving the impedance matching, the MA performance of CMM can be effectively regulated and optimized: the optimal reflection loss is −61.51 dB with a thickness of 3.5 mm and the maximum effective absorption bandwidth covers the whole Ku‐band with 7.6 GHz at 2.1 mm. Meanwhile, the whole X‐band absorption can also be achieved with specific MoS2 loading at an optimized thickness.

Hierarchical Carbon Fiber@MXene@MoS2 Core-sheath Synergistic Microstructure for Tunable and Efficient Microwave Absorption

Hollow porous CoNi/C composite nanomaterials derived from MOFs for efficient and lightweight electromagnetic wave absorber

With the widespread application of electronic communication technology, the resulting electromagnetic radiation pollution has been significantly increased. Metal matrix electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials have disadvantages such as high density, easy corrosion, difficult processing and high price, etc. Polymer matrix EMI shielding composites possess light weight, corrosion resistance and easy processing. However, the current polymer matrix composites present relatively low electrical conductivity and poor EMI shielding performance. This review firstly discusses the key concept, loss mechanism and test method of EMI shielding. Then the current development status of EMI shielding materials is summarized, and the research progress of polymer matrix EMI shielding composites with different structures is illustrated, especially for their preparation methods and evaluation. Finally, the corresponding key scientific and technical problems are proposed, and their development trend is also prospected.
