Scoring short answer question (consisting of at most 100 words) requires a special treatment, particularly on the term weighting process. With such limitation, it is therefore infeasible to have term weighting with term frequency model because the frequency of term appearance is very rare. This paper proposes a new method, named Weighted Cosine Coefficient. The experiment result shows that Weighted Cosine Coefficient method can improve the correlation value on Automated Short Answer Scoring (ASAS) system compared to that of Jaccard Coefficient, Dice Coefficient, Cosine Coefficient, Weighted Jaccard Coefficient, and Weighted Dice Coefficient. The average improvement of the correlation value on the tested data set is 0.56.

Automated Short Answer Scoring using Weighted Cosine Coefficient

This paper proposed processing framework in essay answer for Automatic Scoring System based on computational. Framework is built with the initial process by normalizing through stop words removal, building case homogeneous, stemming, common spelling mistakes correction, and acronym and common abbreviation analysis. The next step is to examine the similarity by carrying out similarity and classification analysis. The process in the Framework that has been built using reference essay answers as references that will be examined for similarity with the answer to the question. Similarities are matched by using features generated in the features extraction process. Then the training classification process is carried out to produce the model. The model is used to determine the classification score. Classification scores are validated by looking at the value of accuracy and the resulting similarity scores. This framework can be used to process essay problem patterns which have 2 predetermined classification classes, although for more classifications it can be handled with an improved algorithm implemented.

Nowadays Web plays a vital role in everyone’s life. Whether one has to search something, perform any online task or anything on Internet, one has to come across Web pages throughout. For small screen terminals such as small mobile phone screen, palmtop, pagers, tablet computers, and many more, reading a Web page is time-consuming task because there are many unwanted content parts which are to be scrolled or there are advertisements, etc. To overcome such issue, the source code of a Web page is organized in tree format. In this paper, backtracking is applied on the tree as per some mentioned rules (I, II, III) to filter out the Web page headings. These rules are applied until none of the nodes is left unvisited. The filtered data is then mapped to a multidimensional (MDB) data cube. Again MDB is used by online analytical processing (OLAP) which in turn is one of the greatest tools for analysts in today’s entrepreneur’s scenario. This strategy makes Web page access a very simple and interesting task.

The system can perform tasks such as to web multipoint remote recording, switch cameras, separate takes, change scenes, remove background, edit, integrate, add special effects on videos, the functionalities of a digital switcher, while getting superb video quality, and so on. Automatic Web-Based EFP Studio System with XML Documents

The test system in this essay is a test system under the mode of B/S (Browser/Server). In the test system, the subjective item grading technology is always a problem that limits the computer scoring technology development. The subjective items generally require to answer the questions in a way of language description, Since different person has different way of thinking, different level of understanding and different way of describing, the answers cannot be unanimously the same. Here we'll use the XML DOM object to do some research on the subjective item scoring problem. Solving the type of subjective items that has no unanimously same answers, such as short-answer questions, discussion questions etc. There are two factors that will affect the subjective item scoring: knowledge point and the nearness level. The unidirectional nearness algorithm in the fuzzy mathematics only focus on the keyword matching, but ignore the scoring of the knowledge point and the nearness level of the whole question's answering. First we'll analyses the DOM tree's structure and the tree model, research the use of the navigation document tree, DOM tree object, attribute data's reading and DOM tree DFS(depth first search) traversal method. And then discuss and build a automated scroing system's workflow based on XML DOM tree. Design a scoring system algorithm that can solve the short-answer, discussion-question kind of subjective items problem.
