Does the US-China trade war affect co-movements between US and Chinese stock markets?

Purpose: The prime objective of the current study is to explore the nexus between supplier innovativeness, information sharing, strategic sourcing and supply chain agility. The study has tried to investigate the direct impact of supplier innovativeness, information sharing, and strategic sourcing on supply chain agility.
Methodology: In addition to that the current study is also interested in examining the mediating role of information sharing and strategic sourcing in the relationship between supplier innovativeness and supply chain agility. The previous research studies have analysed the influence of supplier innovativeness on the performance of the firm.
Results: It has been revealed through some research studies that there is a positive association among the performance of manufacturers and supplier innovativeness as well as relationship performance. Thus the current study is among the pioneering studies on this issue. Employing the survey-based methodology, the SEM-PLS technique is used to test the hypothesized relationships. So, the current study has used SEM-PLS as a statistical tool to answer the research questions raised in this study and research objectives envisaged in the current study. The findings of the study have provided support to the theoretical foundation and proposed hypothesis of the current study. Current study will be helpful for policymakers and practitioners in understanding the issues related to supply chain risk, supply chain integration and supply chain performance. In the author's knowledge this is among very few pioneering studies on this issue.

Impact strategic sourcing, supplier innovativeness, and information sharing on supply chain agility

This conceptual paper is to study the departmental improvement that needs to be implemented at Malaysian Schools Counselling Center by integrating Human Resources Management Practices. The study reviews literature on the Historical Background of Malaysian School Counselling Center and human resource management practices. The paper goes on to analyse factors and perceptions that is needed for revamping a systematic Counselling and Career Development Center in schools. Furthermore, its operational needs relevant human resource management approach which will contribute towards building the future human capital via the school systems. As human capital is the backbone of any country, it has become essential for any nation to produce the right human capital to ensure the workforce of the country is able to develop well balance country from political, economic and socially. However, there is rising challenges for the education sector to produce and feed the talents and various initiatives have been addressed in the Malaysian Education Blueprint 2013- 2025(MEB) by the Ministry of Education Malaysia. Hence, pilot study will be carried out at two governments secondary school in Malaysia located in an urban and a sub urban platform and to contribute at end of the research towards improvement in schools counselling center by using Human Resource Management approach. It is also aim that can support future studies can be carried out based on the practical implementation.

An Empirical Study in Human Resource Management to Optimize Malaysian School Counselling Department

This study examines the reaction of stock returns to acquisition news. A data of 51 observations of acquiring companies with publicly traded shares on the London Stock Exchange (FTSE100) is used over a period, from July 2012 to May 2013 with an estimation period [-100, -10] and test period [-5, +5]. The market model is applied here in order to predict future stock returns and the use of the simple regression to get the parameters of the regression equation. With this a test statistics obtained on average, is significantly positive and greater than the critical value. Therefore, the event of acquisition does appear to be related significantly to the abnormal returns and the null hypothesis being rejected.

Event Study on the Reaction of Stock Returns to Acquisition News

Recent financial crises, economic collapses, and the fall of giant corporations due to accounting fraud and governance irregularities has brought corporate governance to the limelight especially with regard to the role of the board of directors. The board of directors is charged with monitoring and advising management and likewise providing strategic direction for the corporation. Board characteristics are instrumental towards the effective implementation of corporate governance principles in firms. This study evaluates the influence of board characteristics of; board composition and independence, board size, board diversity, board meetings and committee structure on effective corporate governance practices in Airbus group. This paper adopts a qualitative approach through which secondary data obtained from the corporate governance report of the board of directors for 2015 is analyzed. The findings of the study highlight the significance of key board characteristics features in ensuring effective corporate governance practices. Therefore the implication of this study is for corporations to apply recommended board characteristic features which serve as a catalyst towards effective corporate governance in corporations.
