Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamic modeling of a large once-through steam generator

TL;DR: In this article, a mathematical model of a large counter-current heat exchanger for generation of supercritical steam was derived, consisting of coupled, nonlinear, partial differential equations derived from the laws of conservation of mass, momentum, and energy pertaining to the compressible secondary fluid and the counterflowing incompressible primary fluid.
Journal ArticleDOI

Variance of certain flux estimators used in monte carlo calculations.

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of the grazing flux on the surface-crossing flux estimator and the pillbox track-length estimator used in Monte Carlo calculations was investigated. But it was found that the effect was negligible.
Book ChapterDOI

Methods and data for reactor shield calculations.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss the methods and data for reactor shield calculations, and discuss the expected importance of a neutron born in the core and the three main ways of estimating shield effectiveness.
