Book ChapterDOI

From MPEG-4 Scene Representation to MPEG-7 Description

TL;DR: This chapter introduces the first online MAMS (Multimedia Asset Management System) synergistically developed around MPEG-4/MPEG-7 standards and shows how this combination solves the main challenges for any MAMS with respect to multimedia compression, representation, description as well as user-interactivity.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Three-dimensional reconstruction from incomplete Fourier spectra: an extrapolation approach

TL;DR: A global optimization scheme using a deterministic relaxation algorithm based on Bregman's algorithm associated with half-quadratic minimization techniques for reconstructing well-contrasted 3D vascular network in comparison with results obtained by using standard algorithms.
Book ChapterDOI

Very low bitrate video: a statistical analysis in the DCT domain

TL;DR: This paper presents the first statistical investigation on VLBV in the DCT (2D Discrete Cosine Transform) domain, thus identifying the particular way in which the V LBV obeys to the very popular Gaussian law and points to critical behaviour differences between the high and very low bitrate videos.

ARTEMIS.Ubimedia at TRECVID 2012: Instance Search Task.

TL;DR: The grouping of the video frames in a single video clip descriptor has yielded the best results while reducing significantly the number of BoW vectors to be compared.
