A pitch bearing and related method for wind electric turbines has an annularly shaped first bearing ring connected with an associated wind turbine blade, and includes a first raceway groove. An annularly shaped second bearing ring is connected with the rotor portion of the wind turbine, and includes a second raceway groove aligned with the first raceway groove. Rolling elements are positioned in the first and second raceway grooves to rotatably interconnect the two bearing rings. A gear segment is formed on one of the bearing rings, and is configured to engage a pitch drive portion of the wind turbine to pivot the blade axially between different pitch angles. The gear segment has an arcuate measure of less than 200 degrees to facilitate economical manufacture.

An improved swing gear for a power mining shovel which can be removed and replaced simply by partially separating the upper rotatable frame assembly from the lower stationary frame assembly and including upper and lower bearing rails formed of a plurality of arcuate segments and a plurality of arcuate bearing segments removably coupled to each other to form a circular bearing arrangement positioned between the upper and lower bearing rails whereby the bearing segments and bearing rail segments may be removed and replaced in an area exposed by the upper frame assembly without any separation of the upper rotatable frame assembly from the lower stationary assembly.

Method and apparatus for swing gear and bearing assembly for power mining shovel

Wind turbine rotor comprising a hub, a plurality of blades and at least one pitch system for rotating a blade substantially along its longitudinal axis. The pitch system comprises a bearing, a gear and a pitch drive. The pitch drive is arranged on a flange and has a motor and a pinion which meshes with the gear. The flange is provided with a hole and an intermediate support is concentrically arranged with respect to the hole. The intermediate support comprises an off-center opening with respect to a central axis of the hole and the pitch drive is mounted through said off-center opening. The position of the off-center opening is such that the intermediate support can be arranged in a first and a second position in which the drive pinion meshes with a first and second section of the gear respectively.

A method for repairing a hub pitch gear assembly (115). The method includes providing a ring assembly (137) for adjusting a pitch angle of a wind turbine blade (108) having a plurality of gear teeth (302). A segment of the ring assembly (115) is removed, the segment including at least a portion of at least one gear tooth (115), to form a repair cavity (303). A repair segment (301) configured to mate the repair cavity (303) is provided and the repair segment (301) is directed into the repair cavity (303) and fastened in position. A repaired pitch gear assembly (115) and wind turbine (100) are also disclosed.

Hub pitch gear repair method

A walking dragline excavator massive hollow internally reinforced base frame has built-in annular rail girder means over which annular track means are carried for running thereon of roller means adapted for supporting the revolving frame on the annular track means. Load stress distribution between the base frame and the revolving frame is attained by having an annular area contiguous to the perimeter of the base frame of greater resilient flexibility than the remainder of the base frame. Means comprising either bolts or clips are provided for releasably connecting the track means to the base frame and for permitting load stress relief circumferentially directed relative movement of the track means and the base frame under load transmitted through roller means by the revolving frame during load lifting and operational revolving of the revolving frame.

Load stress relief for walking dragline excavator base frames

There is disclosed a swing bearing in combination with a swing gear for the slewing platform of hydraulic excavators and the like. The swing gear comprises a plurality of gear segments detachably secured to one race member of the bearing assembly in a manner to form a continuous annular gear element or member. The combination is constructed so that individual segments of the gearing can be removed and replaced without removing the slewing platform.
