Journal ArticleDOI

Paraplegia following intrathecal chemotherapy.

TL;DR: Though the specific agent responsible for paraplegia following intrathecal chemotherapy is unknown, there is evidence to suggest that the preservatives rather than the therapeutic agents themselves are responsible.
Journal ArticleDOI

Alcoholism, infection and altered host defenses: a review of clinical and experimental observations.

TL;DR: The epidemiologic or statistical foundation of most clinical studies of alcohol and infection has generally been weak or lacking and the mere enumeration of alcoholics present among patients with a specific infection has often been taken as sufficient evidence to establish a relationship.
Journal ArticleDOI

Retardation of colony growth of in vitro bone marrow culture using sera from patients with felty' syndrome, disseminated lupus erythematosus (sle), rheumatoid arthritis, and other disease states

TL;DR: No single serum fraction isolated by ion exchange chromatography, gel filtration, or electrophoresis was identified as solely responsible for marrow growth retardation; however lipoprotein fractions including chylomicrons, LDL and HDL showed inhibiting activity in various sera.
