A catalyst compositions for reducing nitrogen oxide comprising, as its chief ingredient, an intimate mixture of A. titanium (Ti) as component A, with B. at least one metal selected from the group consisting of molybdenum (Mo), tungsten (W), iron (Fe), vanadium (V), nickel (Ni), cobalt (Co), copper (Cu), chromium (Cr), and uranium (U), as component B, in the form of their oxides, and a process for reducing nitrogen oxides to nitrogen, which comprises contacting a gaseous mixture containing nitrogen oxides and molecular oxygen and a reducing gas with aforesaid catalyst compositions at an elevated temperature.

Catalytic process for reducing nitrogen oxides to nitrogen

Provided is an emissions treatment system and method for reducing NOx emissions in the exhaust stream produced from an internal combustion engine. The system has an injector for periodically metering ammonia or an ammonia precursor into an exhaust stream; and a first substrate with a first SCR catalyst composition, downstream of the injector. The first substrate has an inlet end, an outlet end, a length extending between the inlet end to the outlet end, wall elements and a plurality of passages defined by the wall elements. The first SCR catalyst composition is disposed on the wall elements from the inlet end toward the outlet end to a length that is less than the substrate's axial length to form an inlet zone. The first substrate also has an NH3 destruction catalyst composition with a platinum group metal component dispersed on a refractory metal oxide. The NH3 destruction catalyst is disposed on the wall elements from the outlet end toward the inlet end to a length that is less than the substrate's axial length to form an outlet zone. Generally, there is from 0.1 to 10 g/ft3 of platinum group metal component in the outlet zone.

Zone coated catalyst to simultaneously reduce NOx and unreacted ammonia

Catalysts and methods for alkane oxydehydrogenation are disclosed. The catalysts of the invention generally comprise (i) nickel or a nickel-containing compound and (ii) at least one or more of titanium (Ti), tantalum (Ta), niobium (Nb), hafnium (Hf), tungsten (W), yttrium (Y), zinc (Zn), zirconium (Zr), or aluminum (Al), or a compound containing one or more of such element(s). In preferred embodiments, the catalyst is a supported catalyst, the alkane is selected from the group consisting of ethane, propane, isobutane, n-butane and ethyl chloride, molecular oxygen is co-fed with the alkane to a reaction zone maintained at a temperature ranging from about 250° C. to about 350° C., and the ethane is oxidatively dehydrogenated to form the corresponding alkene with an alkane conversion of at least about 10% and an alkene selectivity of at least about 70%.

A process is described that removes by oxidation the excess ammonia (NH3) gas from flue gases that have been subjected to selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) by ammonia injection.
