Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of nitrogen on the diffusion coefficient of hydrogen in niobium

TL;DR: The influence of nitrogen impurities on the diffusion coefficient of hydrogen in niobium has been measured with the help of the Gorsky-effect technique as mentioned in this paper, which can be interpreted as if nitrogen in Nb suppresses the fast low-temperature diffusion process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of impurities on the diffusion coefficient of hydrogen and deuterium in vanadium

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of impurities on the diffusion coefficient of H in V is not noticeable for RRR > 18 for high purity vanadium, and it is shown that impurities have no effect on H diffusion coefficient.
Journal ArticleDOI

X-ray investigation of the niobium hydrogen phase diagram

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the two-phase coexistence of solid-solution H in Nb by loading the Nb with a critical H concentration and found that the residual stresses in the nb-H system are composed of the stresses due to the dislocations and the coherency risks due to inhomogeneous distribution of H.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comments on “on Gorsky effect measurements of hydrogen diffusion in niobium” by Matusiewicz, Booker, Keiser and Birnbaum

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the apparent activation energy in the transition region increases with the temperature of the deuterium in Nb and that the high-temperature value has been confirmed by R. Cantelli et al. [Phys. Stat. Sol. 23: 175(1974) with a resistivity technique simultaneously showing that the change does not exist.
