Thermoluminescence dating of Mousterian Troto-Cro-Magnon' remains from Israel and the origin of modern man

TL;DR: This article reported thermoluminescence dates for 20 specimens of burnt flints recovered from the hominid-bearing layers of Qafzeh1 and Skhul2,3 caves in Israel have yielded the remains of over 30 hominids.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL Dates of Burnt Flints from Jelinek's Excavations at Tabun and their Implications

TL;DR: A selection of 37 burnt flints from Jelinek's excavations at Tabun were dated by thermoluminescence as mentioned in this paper, showing that the bottom of unit I (Garrod's Layer C) should be given an age of 171±17 kp (transition from oxygen isotope stage 7 to 6) and that units XIII to II (Layers Ed to D) were deposited between c. 330 and 210 kp, i.e. during the oxygen isotopes stages 9-8 and the beginning of 7.
Journal ArticleDOI

Flint thermoluminescence dates from the CFR laboratory at Gif: Contributions to the study of the chronology of the middle palaeolithic

TL;DR: This article used thermoluminescence of burnt flint tools as a reliable dating tool and provided new dates which require reassessment of the chronology of numerous Middle Palaeolithic sites.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the dose-rate dependence of the thermoluminescence response of quartz

TL;DR: The dose-rate dependence of the thermoluminescence of different types of quartz in the range from 0.8 to 900 rad/min has been measured in this paper, which is strong for massive quartz, decreases with the irradiation temperature of the samples.
