Journal ArticleDOI

Accumulation of radioactive corrosion products on steel surfaces of VVER type nuclear reactors. I. 110mAg

TL;DR: In this article, an independent technique (XPS) is used to characterize the depth distribution and chemical state of various contaminants in the passive layer formed on austenitic stainless steel, while in the case of magnetite-covered carbon steel the silver species are mainly depleted in the form of Ag2O.
Journal ArticleDOI

A detailed study of the reliability of some crucial parameters used in the in-situ radiotracer sorption studies

TL;DR: In this article, an upgraded version of the radiotracer thin gap (thin gap) method was reported, and the contribution of the secondary radiations (bremsstrahlung, characteristic X-rays, and backscattered β-particles) to the β-intensities to be detected during in-situ radio-racer sorption experiments was discussed.
Book ChapterDOI

Combined Application of Radiochemical and Electrochemical Methods for the Investigation of Solid/Liquid Interfaces

TL;DR: The structure of the electrical double layer can have predominant effects on electrode processes as mentioned in this paper, i.e., the array of charged species and oriented dipoles existing at the electrode/electrolyte interface, and the role of specific and nonspecific adsorption in the understanding and mechanistic interpretation of various interfacial phenomena.
