Greenhouse gas emissions from tropical forest degradation: an underestimated source

TL;DR: The results of this study clearly demonstrate the importance of accounting greenhouse gases from forest degradation by human activities, and the scale of emissions presented indicates that the exclusion of forest degradation from national and international GHG accounting is distorting.
Journal ArticleDOI

Combining Global Remote Sensing Products with Hydrological Modeling to Measure the Impact of Tropical Forest Loss on Water-Based Ecosystem Services

TL;DR: A new methodology to quantify the impact of deforestation on water-based ES in the Lower Mekong River Basin with a focus on Cambodia points to a clear correlation between forest loss and surface runoff, with a weaker but upward trending relationship betweenforest loss and sediment yield.
