Journal ArticleDOI
Cardiac and arrhythmic complications in patients with COVID-19.
TL;DR: This review focus on COVID‐19 cardiac and arrhythmic manifestations and makes an appraisal of other virus epidemics as SARS‐CoV, Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus, and H1N1 influenza.
Journal ArticleDOI
Catheter ablation for the treatment of electrical storm in patients with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators: short- and long-term outcomes in a prospective single-center study.
Corrado Carbucicchio,Matteo Santamaria,Nicola Trevisi,Giuseppe Maccabelli,Francesco Giraldi,Gaetano Fassini,Stefania Riva,Massimo Moltrasio,Manuela Cireddu,Fabrizio Veglia,Paolo Della Bella +10 more
TL;DR: By preventing ES recurrence, catheter ablation may play a protective role over the long term and, together with long-term pharmacological therapy, may favorably affect cardiac mortality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Periprocedural Stroke and Bleeding Complications in Patients Undergoing Catheter Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation With Different Anticoagulation Management Results From the Role of Coumadin in Preventing Thromboembolism in Atrial Fibrillation (AF) Patients Undergoing Catheter Ablation (COMPARE) Randomized Trial
Luigi Di Biase,J. David Burkhardt,Pasquale Santangeli,Prasant Mohanty,Javier Sanchez,Rodney Horton,G. Joseph Gallinghouse,Sakis Themistoclakis,Antonio Rossillo,Dhanunjaya Lakkireddy,Madhu Reddy,Steven Hao,Richard Hongo,Salwa Beheiry,Jason Zagrodzky,Bai Rong,Sanghamitra Mohanty,Claude S. Elayi,Giovanni B. Forleo,Gemma Pelargonio,Maria Lucia Narducci,Antonio Russo,Michela Casella,Gaetano Fassini,Claudio Tondo,Robert A. Schweikert,Andrea Natale +26 more
TL;DR: In this article, the role of continuous warfarin therapy in preventing periprocedural thromboembolic and hemorrhagic events after radiofrequency catheter ablation was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Left Mitral Isthmus Ablation Associated with PV Isolation: Long‐Term Results of a Prospective Randomized Study
Gaetano Fassini,Stefania Riva,Roberta Chiodelli,Nicola Trevisi,Marco Berti,Corrado Carbucicchio,Giuseppe Maccabelli,Francesco Giraldi,Paolo Della Bella +8 more
TL;DR: The deployment of an ablation line connecting the left inferior PV to the mitral annulus (mitral isthmus line] enhances the efficacy of pulmonary vein disconnection (PVD) in preventing atrial fibrillation (AF) recurrences.
Journal ArticleDOI
Proven isolation of the pulmonary vein antrum with or without left atrial posterior wall isolation in patients with persistent atrial fibrillation.
Rong Bai,Luigi Di Biase,Prasant Mohanty,Chintan Trivedi,Antonio Russo,Sakis Themistoclakis,Michela Casella,Pietro Santarelli,Gaetano Fassini,Pasquale Santangeli,Sanghamitra Mohanty,Antonio Rossillo,Gemma Pelargonio,Rodney Horton,Javier Sanchez,Joseph G. Gallinghouse,J. David Burkhardt,C.S. Ma,Claudio Tondo,Andrea Natale +19 more
TL;DR: Proven isolation of the LAPW provides additional benefits over PVAI alone in the treatment of persistent AF and improves procedural outcome at follow-up, however, the ablation strategy of ePVAI+LAPW is still associated with a significant high incidence of very late recurrence of atrial tachyarrhythmia.
