The resistance band exercise station disclosed here is a modular hooking system used to perform a myriad of exercises with various exercise tools that require anchoring such as standard resistance bands, suspension straps and stretch straps. The resistance band exercise station includes multiple components: one or more lower units each having column(s) of vertically spaced safety hooks for exercises performed at various heights, from the ankle to eye level, and an upper unit having one or more safety hooks used for exercises performed above the head. The multiple lower and upper units are wall mounted in varying heights. The safety hooks are used to anchor resistance bands, suspension straps and stretch straps from one or multiple points. The safety hooks are open-loop hooks having a barrier member such as a T-bar at the tip to prevent the straps from slipping out.

Resistance band exercise station

An ergonomic hand grip is provided for use with a wide variety of devices and equipment such as ski poles and bicycle handlebars. In a basic illustrated form, the grip has an elongated base that is contoured so that, when gripped, the thumb is bent and the hand and wrist are in a neutral position. In the neutral position, the hand is not cocked or hyper-extended, but rather is generally aligned with the forearm. In particular, a thumb support is provided adjacent to one end of the base to position and support the thumb in the bent position. The base is also provided with suitable depressions and/or recessed areas to receive enlarged portions of the gripping hand to cause the knuckles to be in generally linear alignment. Further, the end of the base opposite the thumb support is reduced in size to allow disproportionately more contraction of the lowermost two fingers, and primarily the lowermost or little finger. When used in certain applications such as for ski poles where the base is generally upright, the base is desirable tilted slightly forwardly. The grip tends to promote improved alignment and stabilization of the parts of the user's body and in particular stabilize the user's shoulders, and in turn his/her hips, legs, etc. for greater stability and efficiency of movement. The grip also facilitates the users ability to resist stress applied to the grip.

Ergonomic hand grip and method of gripping

A pitching and batting conditioning device which is characterized in a first preferred embodiment by single and multiple drum conditioning devices having a drum spool for receiving a weight line attached to a weight and one or more drums of the same or different diameters for receiving a conditioning line or lines attached to a baseball bat or ball. Conditioning of the arm or arms and upper body is achieved by grasping the bat or ball and swinging the bat or simulating throwing the ball against the resistance of the weight. In another embodiment a multiple spring conditioning device also includes a conditioning line attached to a bat or ball and an adjustable feature for engaging springs of varying tension for application to the conditioning line. In a third embodiment a torsion spring is mounted in a housing with an adjustable torsional feature and includes a drum, upon which is wound a conditioning line attached to a bat or ball. Conditioning is achieved by varying amounts of tension applied to the torsion spring. A fourth embodiment features a dual pulley system for receiving a weight line and applying conditioning tension against a weight attached to the weight line.

Pitching and batting conditioning device

A device for training hand and finger muscles including a hand engaging element, a fixed weight and a mechanism for moving the weight in response to movement of a finger. The moving mechanism may include a rope connected to the weight and the hand engaging element, the weight being freely suspended from the rope. This device allows the resistance presented to fingers to be exercised to be varied in exact and reproducible amounts which are in an appropriate range for the fingers. The device also allows many positions of the fingers, both along and among the fingers, so that the exercises may be tailored for the individual and the task for which the fingers are being trained.

Device and method for exercising the muscles of the fingers and hand using weights

A portable pull-up apparatus may include a plurality of hollow support poles and a plurality of pulley wheel sections. A pull-up bar may further be horizontally placed on top of the support poles. Weights may further be situated within an interior of the support poles. A plurality of cables provided with handles adapted to be gripped by a user may be wrapped about the pulley wheel sections such that the distal ends of the cables are guided inside the support poles respectively. A plurality of selector rods may be through the weight groups. A plurality of anchor pins may be positioned to lock selected weights. Further resistance bands may be situated within the interior of the support poles. In this way, corresponding resistance band groups may cooperate with corresponding weight groups to create a unique tension force opposing vertical displacement of the distal end of the cables respectively.

Portable pull-up apparatus and associated method

A compact multiple use exercise device removably secured in doorway, comprising a telescopically adjustable chinning bar which locks at any longitudinal increment allowing it to be adjusted to fit different doorway widths. The bar is supported at each end in the doorway by hangers which have open tops to allow the bar to be easily removed and stored when not in use. Weight resistance is provided by standard weight plates which are placed on the carrier which is coupled to a cable which runs through a first pulley attached to the chinning bar, and optionally through a second pulley, and attaches to a handle, lat bar, or leg strap depending on which exercise is desired. With the cable running through the first pulley, an upward and lateral resistance is created which may be used for exercises which simulate golf, baseball, swimming and throwing; as well as several standard weight training exercises. The second pulley may be positioned to change the direction of resistance on the cable to an upward, downward or lateral direction. Rowing exercises are also possible when the second pulley is attached to a telescoping lat bar which may be held low to the floor at each side of the door frame.
