Journal ArticleDOI

Enzyme electrode and thermistor probes for determination of alcohols with alcohol oxidase.

TL;DR: Enzyme electrode and thermistor probes have been prepared by chemically binding alcohol oxidase from Candida boidinii by using enzymes immobilized onto an O 2 electrode and the thermistor probe system is quite stable for several hundred assays and the electrode probe for about 100 assays.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fluorometric procedure for measuring the activity of dehydrogenases.

TL;DR: A simple, direct, fluorometric method is described for measuring the activity of dehydrogenases, based upon the conversion of the nonfluorescent material resazurin to the highly fluorescent compound resorufin, in conjunction with the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide-reduced nicotinamides (NAD(+)-NADH) system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enzyme electrode for L-amino acids and glucose.

TL;DR: New electrodes based on chemically bound enzymes are described for glucose and L-amino acids that are more sensitive than the hydrogen peroxide-based electrodes described previously, because the unstable peroxide can be consumed in several ways such as catalase decomposition or reaction with other products.
